2025 will see Grand Prix championships, tailored specifically for aspiring club racers. Offering all the benefits of competitive racing while ensuring participants can enjoy their passion without the pressures of extensive preparation.

One of the standout features of the junior RHDC is or fleet of 160cc EVO karts, that are built to race specifications. Designed exclusively for championship participants, these karts not only promise faster speeds than previous models but are also maintained in optimal condition to provide a level playing field. This means that competitors can focus on honing their skills, confident that they are racing on an equal footing. It’s a unique selling point that sets this championship apart from any other in the UK.

The championship welcomes young racers in two distinct age brackets—juniors aged 8 to 11 and those between 12 to 15 years. The race format mirrors that of Grand Prix events, which includes practice/qualifying to determine grid positions, and a race through until the end of the hour. This simple format not only helps to familiarise participants with the racing process but also builds anticipation and engagement as they navigate each stage of the series.

With arrival 60 minutes before practice and the final finishing 60 minutes after the start of practice, the session should require you here for about 2.5 hrs “arrival to departure” allowing for the post race presentation. This compact schedule maximises track time while minimising the commitment required from drivers and their families.

Recognising talent and effort is key in motorsport. Therefore, following each race, trophies will be awarded to the top three finishers, while every participant will receive a personalised “lap time certificate.” While many drivers will opt to wear their own race gear, comprehensive racing kits will be provided for those who need them, ensuring everyone is race-ready.

The championship is affordably priced at £700 and includes a winter cup event in February—a non-point scoring introduction that allows drivers to acclimatise to the racing format. The main 9-round championship will take place from March to November. A noteworthy aspect of the series is the flexibility it offers: competitors can drop their lowest-scoring round, accommodating changes in schedules, holidays, or unfortunate events that might sideline them from a race.

Furthermore, the annual RHDC program will provide dedicated test sessions each month and offer reduced fees for casual track bookings, ensuring that participants have ample opportunity to practice and improve their racing aptitude.

So if you’re an aspiring racer or a parent looking to introduce your child to the thrilling world of kart racing, this championship could be the perfect gateway. Don’t miss out on this chance to be a part of a growing community of passionate racers.
