Obtain your Motorsport UK race licence
Rye House, located in Hertfordshire, has long been a popular destination for motorsport enthusiasts. With its state-of-the-art facilities and challenging track, it has attracted drivers from all over!
Now, Rye House has taken another big step towards promoting motorsport in the region by becoming an accredited Arks test centre, a much-needed platform for drivers with karting experience to gain a licence and compete at a higher level.
Offering 2 options for drivers to start racing competitively under Motorsport UK regulations, the new 2024 Rye House Kart Club Series will run under an RS Clubman permit. This enables an easy path for existing drivers with karting experience to gain a licence.
Whilst the RS Clubman is a fantastic solution for drivers who have previously competed in our Independent Kart Racing series without a licence, we highly recommend all drivers seeking a licence to sit a full ARKS test to acquire an Interclub licence.
The addition of these two licensing options at Rye House is a significant step towards promoting and nurturing the talent and aspiring drivers. By offering a simple and accessible route to gaining a licence, Rye House is making it easier for drivers to enter the world of motorsport and compete at a higher level. So, if you have a passion for motorsport and dream of becoming a professional driver, head to Rye House and take the first step towards making your dream a reality.
Interclub
For those looking to compete at club level race meetings across the UK, the Interclub licence is the way to go. This option allows drivers to take part in a wide range of races and events, giving them the opportunity to showcase their skills and compete against other talented drivers. The Interclub licence is divided into two parts: theory and practical, and takes around three hours to complete.
To acquire an Interclub licence, drivers must first purchase an MSUK ARKS starter pack, which is available to purchase online or from Rye House’s kart shop on site. The starter pack, priced at £69, contains instruction booklets, links to important resources, and an application form, which will be sent to Motorsport UK by an ARKS examiner from Rye House upon completion of the ARKS test. All Motorsport UK licence holders also gain personal accident insurance in the event of the unexpected. This will give drivers the peace of mind they need while racing and will also come with a host of other MSUK member benefits.
The cost of an ARKS test is £100 + track fees on a Wednesday, or £130 + track fees on a Saturday.
RS Clubman
The RS Clubman licence is a free and easily accessible option that allows drivers to race at Rye House and gain signatures towards an Interclub licence without having to do a full ARKS test. This means that beginners and those who are looking for a simple stepping stone to MSUK racing can now compete at Rye House only on a monthly basis. The application process for the RS Clubman licence is also very convenient, with an online ARKS theory test that can be completed in less than 15 minutes.
One of the key benefits of the RS Clubman licence is that it not only provides a pathway to an Interclub licence, but it also offers personal accident insurance in the event of the unexpected. This will give drivers the peace of mind they need while racing and will also come with a host of other MSUK member benefits.
